Unique, hand forged jewellery created with love and precision
Growing up on a sheep station in Central Otago, New Zealand helped shape Amy's aesthetic for the handmade..."Dad’s work shed was full of intriguing bits and pieces, hammers and wrenches lined the walls and bench tops and I’m sure this is where my fascination for hand tools was born. My Mum is also the creative type and both instilled that do-it-yourself Kiwi mentality in me from a young age."
Nowadays there's an abundance of technology, where machines make things faster, cheaper and in mass quantities. But Amy believes there is something very valuable in crafting an object by hand that will last lifetimes and won't be mass reproduced in an exact likeness. That is why all of her jewellery is hand forged from start to finish, ensuring each piece is truly unique. "It’s important to me that my jewellery not only embody the essence of being handmade, but is also refined and accurately crafted to the highest quality".
Custom work for all occasions, including engagement and wedding rings, are her passion. The connections with each customer and the lasting relationships that often develop as a result, are the main reasons Amy loves her chosen vocation. After spending 11 incredible years in the U.S, Amy has now moved back to Central Otago with her family and works out of her gallery workshop amongst the mountains of Wanaka. She is available via appointment, as well as email, messenger, zoom or the good old telephone to answer any questions or discuss your custom ideas. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch, whether you would like to book an appointment at my studio here in Wanaka, or if you have any questions about the materials or custom design process, I would love to hear from you ~ Amy
