Seattlelites! Join me at my studio for a sale on all current collections and one last (or one and only) look at my workspace where it’s all created!
In order to spend more time with my little bubba Luke, I will be relocating my studio into our home. So, for those of you who haven’t seen my studio, now is the time! I will continue to create new designs in between diaper changes and as always, I welcome your custom orders. I am so grateful to you all for your continued support of my business, and as a token of appreciation I will be offering 15% off all jewelry this one night only.
Stop by for a glass of wine, bring your friends and family, and shop my handmade creations just in time for the holidays.
I look forward to seeing you soon!
~ Amy.

Well, it turns out babies are a lot of work! Initially I posted I would take a month off before getting back into the swing of things, clearly I was way out of my depths with this expectation! I plan to hang out with my precious little guy a bit longer and return to work in the new year. However, I will be keeping Venue well stocked with my jewelry over the holiday period so do stop by their shop to view my current collections as well as the many other fantastic local artists on display. I look forward to hearing from you soon and have a safe and happy holiday.
My best,
Amy.

To my dearest customers,
I am excited to share this news with you! I thought it would also be helpful to keep you in the loop – especially for those who have custom inquiries…
Next week my husband and I are due to have our first little one and this means I will be taking a couple months off from jewelry making. However, I am always available via email to answer your questions and supply quotes so please don’t hesitate to get in touch. We can start the ball rolling on your custom projects through email, then with the details sorted I can hit the ground running once I’m back in action!
Don’t forget you can always purchase my jewelry directly from my
Online Store and these great galleries that are well stocked with my jewelry:
Venue in Ballard, WA
Artisans on Taylor in Port Townsend, WA
Gallery De Novo in Dunedin, NZ
Leeda in Alexandra, NZ
Stay tuned for updates and baby pics

A group of Girl Scouts came by my studio this week to learn a little more about metalsmithing…

Check out the current issue of Seattle Bride for a special piece on creating wedding and engagement rings using heirloom gemstones & metals. Featured is a custom ring I designed for Siem Reeves of Dunedin, New Zealand. Re-using the diamonds from her original engagement ring we re-worked them into a modern and contemporary design to commemorate her 10th wedding anniversary.

You are invited to a
Handcrafted Jewelry Show
Featuring new jewelry from Linnie Kendrick,
Yuko Tanaka & Amy Bixby
Thursday December 15th, from 5 – 9pm at Venue
This year I am joined by two jewelry artists new to Venue; Linnie Kendrick and Yuko Tanaka.
I think you will really appreciate the addition of their unique and well-crafted work to the show this year.
Linnie’s jewelry consists of detailed enamel work, sparkling swingset earrings and delicate wire leaf shapes in silver and bronze.
Yuko takes vintage kimono fabric and creates clean contemporary designs to form both pendants and playful double-sided earrings.
My latest pieces feature granulated gold, oxidized silver and wintery gemstones. Also new, is my line of contemporary cufflinks in Sterling silver.
This is a great opportunity to find something unique for your loved ones these holidays (not to mention yourself!) and support local artists in doing so.
Please join us for a glass of wine, a few nibbles and the release of our brand new collections.
We would love to see you there…
~ Amy.

New Studio
My new studioin “Frellard” is a place where I can chat with you in person about your project ideas as well as bash about with my hammers and roll out metal using my brand spanking new rolling mill (pictured bottom left). If you have been considering an idea or have some thoughts you would like to explore further for a jewelry design, shoot me an email to set up an appointment – I love interruptions.
Click here to see some of my latest custom pieces.
If you do not live in the Seattle area – no problem, we can do the entire process via email. With Christmas and holidays just around the corner now is a good time to think about what you would like to get your loved ones this year (ahem… custom jewelry perhaps?)
Don’t forget I also make men’s jewelry – unique cufflinks and manly rings!

The Rugby World Cup is underway in New Zealand! If you haven’t watched rugby before and you live in the United States tune in to Universal Sports on Channel 5.2. It’s an awesome game to watch and New Zealand of course, is going to win it!!
For those of you lucky enough to be in New Zealand right now
Gallery De Novo in Dunedin has a rotating exhibition during the cup games which is well worth checking out in between games. For this exhibition I wanted to create pieces that represented our national team but also offered something different to the more traditional New Zealand themed jewellery. Using unique stones like Dendrite Opal & Dendritic Quartz paired with contrasting oxidized & brite silver I created a special collection that is as bold & strong as our mighty All Blacks! Well, maybe not quite as bold & strong as them, but as far as jewellery goes these pieces have a definite power to them. Take a look at the photos below and if you are in Dunedin do stop by Gallery De Novo for a look-see.

AMY BIXBY JEWELRY is excited to feature in the September Fashion Issue of Seattle Magazine. The ‘Mixed Metal Earrings’ in 14K Gold Fill & Fine Silver, oxidized and brite are pictured along side an inspiring collection of talented Seattle jewelers.
